Welcome fellow Wild Rose Press writer, L Rosario!

So happy to welcome you here today to help you spread the word about your next available story, Vampire's Madam. I had a quick scan of your website and I'm bowled over with how many published stories you have out there!

Can't wait to find out how you manage to be so prolific and put the rest of us to shame, lol!

Let's get started...

1) When and why did you decide you wanted to be a published author?

I’ve always loved to read and I think I always wanted to be a writer, but it wasn’t until college that I really decided to devote time and energy to becoming an author. As for why? I don’t really know. I just feel compelled to write. I can’t imagine NOT doing it.

2) What is the best and worse thing you have learned from an editor/agent?

I don’t think I’ve ever had bad advice from an editor. I try to learn from every critique and would like to think the editors I’ve worked with would say I rarely make the same mistake twice.

3) Favourite author/s?

Such a hard question. I enjoy so many authors and so many genres. Historical Romances are my first love and I adore Sherry Thomas, Meredith Duran and Liz Carlyle, just to name a few. I also devour historical fiction and Elizabeth Chadwick and Margaret George instantly come to mind as favorites. Then there are historical mysteries like Anne Perry and C.S. Harris and I can’t forget paranormal romances and urban fantasies with authors like J.R. Ward, Keri Arthur, Gena Showalter, Kelley Armstrong and a ton others I could list!!

4) What is your typical day?

My day always starts at 5:30am. I get my daughter off to school, eat breakfast, have a cup of tea, take care of “household stuff” then try to get to writing no later than 10am. Of course things don’t always go as planned ;

5) Share your blurb or short excerpt from your latest release with us:

*BLURB*:

Not only is Janna Cutting scorned by Victorian Society for her Indian blood but also because she owns one of the city’s most profitable brothels. As madam she possesses wealth and independence and still she longs for one thing, the mysterious Hugh de Troyes. Yet, week after week, he treats her as nothing more than the proprietor of Keya House.

Fueled by jealousy, Janna decides to play voyeur during the handsome Frenchman's visit. What she witnesses leaves her aroused beyond endurance and privy to the knowledge that Hugh is far from satisfied. He deserves a woman willing to see to all his needs, a woman willing to bleed. Janna is that woman, but failing to convince Hugh might leave her with a wound far greater than any his fangs could inflict.

*EXCERPT*:

Gripping the doorknob, she backed against the open door and looked up at him. “How does the evening find you, Monsieur de Troyes?” Her own voice sounded foreign, desire and anticipation making it sultrier than usual.

His gorgeous eyes swept over her, hesitating just long enough in the vicinity of her neck to make her heart skip a beat. When they returned to her face, they blazed with hunger. “I find myself currently at a loss for words, Madame.”

Janna swallowed then moistened her lips. “Why not come inside, and we’ll see what we can do about your affliction.” She made to push away from the door, but he stopped her by lightly wrapping his right hand around her throat. He wore no gloves, and his fingers were cold against her skin. She blinked up at him and swallowed against the nonthreatening pressure of his hand.

“What game are you playing, Madame?”

“No game. I’ve sent the girls away. I am the only one here to see to your needs tonight.” She hadn’t planned to issue such a bold verbal challenge.

Oh so provocatively, his fingers stroked her throat. “All of them?” In that moment, she was aware that he knew she knew his deepest, darkest secret. The look in his eyes issued a counter challenge, daring her to accept.

Oui, monsieur. You need only ask.”

“Damn you, Madame, why the devil has it taken you so long to offer?”

6) Who would you cast to play your hero & heroine in a movie?

Oh that’s easy and anyone following me on Twitter or Tumblr is going to guess the answer to this before I type it. Jared Leto would be the hero, Hugh, and Frieda Pinto as the heroine, Janna. They are both so beautiful, don’t you think?

7) Did you plan this book? Or write it as it came?

T This one I did plan. I knew my word limit and exactly how I wanted the story to go. That’s rare for me! I always know the beginning and the end of the stories I want to write, but the details in the middle tend to change on a daily basis!

8) What surprised you the most when you became a published?

I’m constantly surprised when someone tells me they’ve enjoyed one of my books. It’s such a treat to hear from a complete stranger!

9) Do you have a dedicated writing space? What does it look like?

I have a desk where my computer is but I also tend to move around the house with my laptop. Wherever the energy feels best is where I’ll set up shop for the day.

10) What’s next for you?

I’m currently working on a story set in NYC about a small coven tasked to locate a rogue vampire who can’t control her bloodlust. I’m hoping to finish it by the end of the year!
