Welcome Whispers Publishing author, W Lynn Chantale!

Welcome to my site, it is so great to meet you! I think I am right in saying I haven't hosted anyone from Whispers Publishing before so it would be fabulous if you could share a little about them after the interview. Hope that's okay?

Let's get started!

1) What is your writing routine?

My writing routine begins in the morning around 6:30 and then I’ll write until around 7 or 8 at night. Don’t panic, it’s not continuous, although if you ask my husband he would disagree. :-)

2) Which author/s inspire you to write?

Goodness, let me think about that one. Early on Victoria Holt and Janet Dailey were my inspirations. Now I’d have to say I’m not really sure.

3) Which is your favorite romance subgenre to read? To write?

This might sound strange, but my favorite subgenre to read is historical. I used to have a huge stack of novels, everything from Victoria Holt to Jane Feather. My favorite to write is Contemporary Erotic.

4) How do you deal with criticism/rejection?

I cringe at the thought of rejection or bad criticism, but I realize both are part of the entire writing process. I have a very good support base. My sister has already promised to read any reviews for content before I get to them. :-)

5) What do you expect from an editor?

I expect an editor to offer guidance, point out inconsistencies which I or my CPs have missed, and to double check that I haven’t misled the reader.

6) Tell me about your latest release

My latest release is about how an argument over a briefcase nearly destroys the marriage of a loving couple.

7) Tease us with a blurb or short excerpt

Haunted by nightmares, Sheridan Sinclair just wants to get through one night without reliving the terrible accident that led to her miscarriage. And she longs for the arms of the man who betrayed her. Matthew Sinclair has always loved his wife, but when she refuses to speak to him after her accident, he's left to wonder what went wrong. When a stolen kiss ignites their forgotten passion, he'll use their love as a means to get her home and in his bed again. Will a husband’s plan of seduction be enough to heal a wife’s broken heart?

8) Which is your favorite character in the book? Why?

My favorite character? That’s a hard one. I love all of them, but maybe Nessa, Sheridan’s assistant. Nessa is feisty and speaks her mind even when her friends don’t want her too.

9) What are you working on right now?

Right now I just sent the edits back to my editor for an erotic titled ‘Breaking Delia’s Rules’ and another submission titled ‘Mistletoe Mambo.’

10) Your biggest piece of advice to aspiring novelists?

Keep writing. No matter how many rejections are received, keep writing. Even before I began the journey to publication I wrote because I enjoyed the craft, I still do. As long as you believe in what you write, so will someone else.

11) Where can readers find you?

  1. Great interview! I have to say I love stories about healing broken relationships especially in marriages. They are always so emotionally intense. This book looks like one of those. Plus I love the cover too.
    Well done, W Lynn.

    Rachel, thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Rachel. Thanks again for hosting me. Let start by saying how much I enjoyed Explicitly English.

I found Whispers Publishing earlier this year on Romance Writers of America's list of publishers. Whispers has been around for over five years and I absolutely adore being a Whispers Author. I have a great editor who is just as picky as I am about the details and I appreciate that. And the cover art Whispers produces is fantabulous! Yes I still drool over my cover. Oh Whispers is also looking for Sci-Fi and Interracial romance stories so if you have something check out their site for submussion guidelines.

  3. Hi Kiru. Thanks for dropping by. Marriage has always fascinated me. Having had some hardships in my own marriage I know a little about what it takes to get back to the love.

  5. I have to echo the fondness of marriage relationships in a romance- and I'm especially fascinated by an erotic romance with a married couple regardless of the circumstances! Your name is definitely on my "to read" list!
