1) When and why did you decide you wanted to be a published author?
Getting one of my stories published is something I
always wanted to do, but I spent way too much time thinking about it and not
enough time doing it! Forty
is only a few years away for me…I think I just decided it was time to go for
it. I remember reading my
first review…I cried…I was so excited someone actually read it and liked what I
wrote. I think I was hooked from
that moment on!
2) What is the best and worse thing you have learned from an
editor/agent?
I have learned so much
from my editor! It’s like
taking 8th grade English class all over again, except this time I
pay attention! The best advice was
to get the story down on paper first, worry about editing later. In the beginning, I was trying to
punctuate and make proper sentences as I wrote…but it interrupted my writing
flow. I don’t really have
any bad advice from my editor and I don’t have an agent.
3) Favourite author/s?
I love anything written by
Kristen Ashley and Sylvia Day. I’m
also a lifelong Judy Blume fan….she got me hooked on reading as a young girl!
4) What is your typical day?
On the days I go into the
office, I get up at 5:30 and get ready for work. At about 6:30, I start getting my kids up for school (I have
three, two girls and a boy). I
drop my youngest at 8:30 and hop on the subway for three stops to my
office. I work until 6, come home,
have dinner, relax a bit and then try to get some reading or writing time in
before bed. But I’m lucky, I can
work from home 2 days a week too, then everything is much more relaxed!
My cover model,
Daniel, is actually an actor, so I’d have to cast him as Jack. To me, he IS Jack! For Syd, I’d cast Amanda Seyfried.
7) Did you plan this book? Or write it as it came?
A little of both! I knew the outline of what I wanted to
write, but I deviated from my original plot a bit too J. Sienna also
became a much more prominent character as I wrote.
8) What surprised you the most when you became a published?
The community of readers,
writers and bloggers! I feel like
I found a second family with the community I’ve become a part of. I’ve made so many good friends that I
chat with daily, but have never actually met! People from all over the world.
9) Do you have a dedicated writing space? What does it look like?
I do most of my writing in
a big old leather chair in my bedroom.
It’s from Restoration Hardware and gets better with age! It has a matching foot-rest that is
always filled with pads of notes and pictures.
I hope to publish a book I just finished, Worth the
Fight, on October 1st.
It’s pretty different from the first three I published. Gone are the wealthy businessmen from
my first three stories and now I’ve moved onto MMA fighters. Big muscles and tattoos…yummy! It’s also a bit different for me because
I wrote it in the alternating POV of both characters.

AUTHOR Bio and
Links:
I was born and raised in New York. I've been told more than once that I
have a New York accent. It is pronounced cawfee, not coffee, right? I am one of
six children, and come from a happy, albeit dysfunctional, family of
"steps, halves, ours, theirs and his" children. I have three
children, two girls and a boy. My son is the oldest and is a godsend. The
girls, well, they are tweens and make me drink too much wine on occasion.
I am a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night! I
actually consider myself a romance author, but my books definitely have steam
in them, so I guess I am technically a romance-erotica author. I am also a HUGE
reader and love Sylvia Day, Kristen Ashely, and EL James.
After years of thinking about writing my own book, I finally took the
leap in 2012. I published my first book, First Thing I See, in January 2013,
and was thrilled at the overwhelming success! Belong to You was published on
April 4, 2013, and climbed its way to number 9 in the Amazon Erotica Best
Seller's list in its first five days! The sequel to Belong to You is due out on
July 1st, 2013.
