Weekend Promo - Maxine Mansfield...

Blurb:

Lizbeth wasn't given a choice whom to marry. She'd been betrothed to the, stubborn, arrogant, egotistical, Adan Hammerstrike, barbarian prince, heir to the throne of Alaria, and...and...murderer, since the day she'd been born. But, did that mean she wasn't entitled to follow her own dreams? Especially if those dreams could keep those she cared for safe? And so what if Adan had grown from the troll of a little boy he'd been into a ridiculously handsome, sexy man. Her heart could resist him, couldn't it?

The last thing on Albrath, Adan ever wanted was to be saddled for all of eternity to the screeching, boring, lackluster, Lizbeth Soulenticer. Though her beauty's beyond compare, there are only so many turns of the hourglass in a night to enjoy it. The rest of the unbearable time, he'll be forced to contend with her silly, hero worship, and her stupid pet choices. But, Adan is a man bound by duty and honor, and he will do what he must, even though he longs for a mate who will challenge him in bed and out. Not that he'll give her his heart, mind you, at least not until they both find themselves Taken by the Passion.

Excerpt:

He held out a hand toward her. "Spend this one night with me, Lizbeth, and if you still feel the same in the morning, we'll talk about you possibly going to the Academy and taking a few classes now and then. After all, how would it look to my family and friends if my brand new wife took off before the sun rises on her wedding night? I have appearances to uphold, we both do."

Lizbeth sizzled with anger. "I don't like you, remember? I couldn't care less how this looks to anybody, and...and...and, I won't spend this night or any other with you, until I have to, even on a bet."

Adan grinned. "Really? Not even on a bet? What if a bet was to get you exactly what you say you want most? A life of your own without a moment's interference from me until the day I do become king?"

Lizbeth shook her head and turned to leave, yet Adan's next words not only stopped her forward motion but had her turning and facing him once more.

"I never took you for a coward, Lizbeth, guess I was wrong. You say you know me better than I know myself. I say prove it, Lizard. If you can manage to answer ten...no make that five questions about me correctly, you win."

His grin grew even bigger. "And if you win, not only will I escort you to the front gate and wave you through the portal on your way to the Academy, I'll be happy to inform my family and friends that you're leaving me. That you find a dusty, old institution more sexually appealing than you do your own husband, and rightly so."

The grin disappeared from his face. "But, if you don't answer all of the questions correctly, you'll spend this one night, this entire night, willingly in my bed, in my arms, as my wife, in every sense of the word. Deal?"

He held out his hand again, and Lizbeth stared at it. Her fingers itched with the temptation to take him up on his offer. A life without interference or being under Adan's thumb, even for a short while, was more than a little tempting. Could she trust him, though?

Lizbeth hesitated, weighing her options. Other than being a bunny killer, Adan Hammerstrike was known far and wide for his word. Once he gave it, he never took it back.

She'd spent the majority of every day, for as long as she could remember, learning everything there was to know about the arrogant barbarian prince. She couldn't lose, and this was an opportunity she couldn't afford to pass up.

Lizbeth smiled as she shook his hand. "Deal."

Excerpt -Alpha Me Not! –Adult:

Peeking through half-closed lids, she didn’t know whether to grin or yowl. He had unlaced her belt and unbuttoned her skirt and shoved both aside. He stared at her sex, nostrils flaring, jaw set.
The muscles in his cheek jerked in an erratic cadence.
“I love your taste in panties.”
She wore a scarlet ribbon thong designed explicitly for titillation. One ribbon spanned her hips, and the two attached to that one framed her sex.
He lowered his head—nose grazing her center—inhaled, and closed his eyes. Levering on one elbow, he rolled between her legs and shoulder nudged her thighs wide. “Shiny and wet, gypsy woman.”
Joe glanced at her.
She shuddered, the picture too erotic for her oversensitized vaginal nerves. Her inner muscles clenched, a sharp, violent contraction that spurred a wave of spasms.
He pinched her clit, and the startling pain squelched the nascent spirals of pleasure. “No coming. Not until I say you can.”
The rapacious stare held her immobile. Only the sound of their rasped breathing broke the utter silence.
“Joe?”
“Ready?”
Ready to climax, but that’s not what he asked.
Shaking her head, she begged him to understand. “I can’t. Please.”
“Count aloud.” With that he lowered his mouth to cover her thrumming clit. The scalding, steady suction sparked her nerve endings.
She arched.
Her clit needed a bite, a fierce pinch, a smack.
Anything.
She needed.
Now!
The stinging, sweet pressure vanished. “Count. Hands back above your head. Now.”
She seethed.
“I’ll walk away.”
No. No.
“Right this second.”
Her vaginal walls convulsed, and the agonizing, frantic tightening shredded her resistance. She grabbed the pillow, stabbed it over her face, and shouted, “One!”
Nothing.
Tears of sheer, angry frustration gathered.
Not even the whisper of his hot exhales.
Nothing.
He pinched a nipple.
The acute pain was pure ecstasy.
“Count.” The order delivered with a melt-your-bones charm. His voice closer now.
“Two,” she croaked.
He hooked her knees high, spread her legs so wide the muscles of her inner thighs trembled, drove his cock to her core, and whipped the pillow away.
She drowned in his eyes.
“Now. Come now,” he whispered and bit the lobe of her ear.

About the Author
My motto is simple: Alpha Me Please. While strong heroines, exotic locations, and cultural differences are my forte, I go weak in the knees for warriors of any type, rebels, SEAls, Vikings, and bad-ass mercenaries.

Send me a man with an attitude and I'll find the right woman to tame him. My writing career began in 2008, and since then I've been lucky enough to have over twenty books published. Most of my books are TOP PICKs and several have been nominated for and won awards and prizes.

Nothing makes my day more than an email from someone who’s read one of my books. So far, I've received emails from almost every continent on the planet. Almost…

Welcome Loose ID author, Cassandra Carr...

Hi Cassandra! So happy to have you here and to be a part of your ongoing tour. Loose Id produce some gorgeous covers and yours in no exception! Okay, let get going with the questions...

1)   What is your writing routine?

I don’t have a routine, per se. Because I have a four-year-old and only part-time childcare, I don’t really have the luxury of a routine. Instead, I work whenever I can, whether it’s something like this while my daughter watches a video or pounding out five thousand words on a day when she’s with a sitter.

As far as how I go about writing a book, I’m a fast-drafter. I write the first draft without going back to revise, unless I realize I need to add something earlier to make a plot point logical/expected later in the book. After I finish the first draft, I go back and revise it. This is when I add in layers – more emotion, more description, that sort of thing. I add a lot of words in revisions, as my first drafts tend to be lean. Then I send the book to critique partners, get it back, make changes if I think the critique was valid, read it once more and then send it off.

2)   Which is your favorite romance subgenre to read? To write?

To read right now is male/male. There are tons of really talented writers doing male/male stories and I enjoy them a lot.

As far as writing, I like to work in several different subgenres, including sports romance, BDSM, ménage, male/male, and more. I like to give my readers some choices about what they read.

3)   What do you expect from an editor?

I expect them to find any grammatical mistakes I make. I’m what they call a “clean writer” which means those types of mistakes aren’t common in my submissions, but no one is perfect. I also expect them to tell me if some aspect of the book, whether it be the plot, characterization, or something else, isn’t working and to suggest an alternative. Editors make our books better, but they shouldn’t have to hold our hands or fix a million careless mistakes. You should never take advantage of your editor.

4)   What are you working on right now?

A million different things, it seems like! I just sent my longest book ever to my critique partners. It’s a mild BDSM story. I will be writing another male/male book and an erotic short story, plus the fifth book in my bull riders series.

5)   Your biggest piece of advice to aspiring novelists?

Lots of people want to write a book. If you’re going to do it, do it. No excuses. Finish the book. Then revise it until it’s shiny. Then have someone who has no emotional stake in either you OR the story read it.

 6)   What was your favorite subject in school and why?

LOL probably English because I was good at it. Later, though, marketing classes. When I still had an Evil Day Job it was in marketing.

7)   What is your favorite dessert?

I can only have one? Eesh. Um, chocolate lava cake.

8)   High heels, sneakers or flip flops?

Depends on the occasion, but in general, flip flops or sneakers. I’m a low-maintenance kind of girl.

Blurb
Hockey player Jason Monroe lives a double life—star defenseman and soon-to-be Olympian on the ice and closeted gay man outside the rink. A serious relationship is out of the question, and Jason makes do with anonymous sex in barroom bathrooms, not willing to take the chance on coming out as gay in a decidedly macho sport.

Advisor to the US Olympic hockey team Patrick Parker knows a thing or two about being a professional hockey player who’s not out.  He’s fifteen years older than Jason, and when he senses the sexy younger man is interested, he knows he shouldn’t give in to the attraction. The two men can’t keep their hands off each other, though, and with each heated encounter it gets harder to hide their relationship. Then their world blows up around them, forcing them into the limelight. Will their love survive or be put on ice?

Warning: This title is intended for readers over the age of 18 as it contains explicit sex scenes and/or situations and adult language, and may be considered offensive to some readers.

Stepping a little closer still—not enough to rouse suspicions should anyone come upon the two of them, but enough to better assess what was going through Jason’s mind and, if he was honest with himself, to experience that little thrill of attraction he’d missed so much lately—Patrick took a good look at the man in front of him. Jason might be younger than he by over fifteen years, but he wasn’t built like a kid. No, Jason was closer to a tank, and that had always been Patrick’s type. He wasn’t a fan of feeling like he was going to break some little twink in half.

Jason’s hair was dark brown and cut in one of those fashionable styles when it wasn’t plastered to his head after a hard practice like they’d had today. He also had full lips and a square jaw. For a younger man, his facial hair grew quickly, and his neck, jaw, and cheeks were covered in a thick scruff, even though Patrick knew the man had been clean shaven as per USA Hockey regulations for the team picture only two days ago.

Patrick wasn’t usually attracted to younger guys, but he had to admit, Jason had a certain magnetism that no doubt drew men and women alike to him. Eyes the color of honey were currently darting all over as if the man was looking for an escape hatch, and with no small amount of regret, Patrick took a step back. He now had a pretty good idea of what Jason’s problem was, but he refused to embarrass the kid by saying or doing anything, especially here.

There was no good way to end this awkward-as-hell encounter, though, and Patrick searched his mind for something nonthreatening to say. “Just promise me you’ll tell me if there’s something I ever say or do that makes you uncomfortable.”

Jason nodded, staring at the floor. “Can I go now?”

He retreated another step. “Of course.”

Without another word, Jason fled, and Patrick had to resist the urge to allow the wall to hold him up. He didn’t need to read a book on the principles of coaching to know that having an attraction to a player was bad news, especially one as young as Jason. Sure, he was well above legal at the age of twenty-two, but many would only see the large age difference and vilify Patrick.

In Venice, Allison Fox will find love in the arms of two men. Her past collides with her future in a battle for her heart. Which one will win?

Travelling to Venice to be the maid of honour in her best friend’s wedding sounds like a great vacation, and a romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day. But when Allison Fox discovers who the best man is, she is torn between duty and self-preservation.

It has taken Allison four years to put her tumultuous relationship with the rodeo cowboy behind her after a violent incident ripped them apart. Now Allison must find a way to face her past and find closure with her old flame. But will she be able to put the past behind her?

Cole is the Texas cowboy who has never got over his love for Allison. But when he declares his love for her after all this time, is she strong enough to walk away from the intense passion they share?

For years Nico, a handsome Italian, was committed to nothing but his work. Nico never expected he would meet an American beauty who would awaken in him a desire to love again. Once he finds her, Nico vows to never let Allison go.

It will be a Valentine’s Day to remember, but who will win Allison’s heart?

EXCERPT

Looking around, Allison was expecting to see another kindly Italian lady, like the sweet one she had met on the plane earlier. She did a stutter step when she saw the man holding the sign that had ‘Allison Fox’ scribbled on it.

Nothing could have prepared her for the tall, handsome man in his exquisite Italian suit, searching the crowd with those piercing dark eyes. She saw him first, but when their gazes met the rest of the world seemed to melt away. He was so handsome, she was drawn to him immediately. She couldn’t quite believe this Adonis with the chiselled good looks was the person who was supposed to be retrieving her.

“Hi, I’m Allison Fox,” she said shyly.

“Oh, so you are Allison then?” The big man grinned happily, giving her a once-over. Judging by his smile, he seemed to like what he saw.

“Yes,” She hesitated, thinking that she probably shouldn’t just go off with a stranger, even if he was a good-looking one…

“I am Nico,” he said. “Nico Vitallini. Alfonso’s cousin. They sent me to pick you up. You are to be Marcia’s maid of honour, in the wedding, no?”

“Yes, I am.” Allison smiled. It was hard not to smile at him. The way he looked at her made her feel as though she was the only person in the entire airport. Her heart beat faster than usual. Were those butterflies in her stomach? Or was she just hungry?

“Come this way and we will collect your luggage. Here, please allow me to carry that for you.” He took her heavy carry-on bag from her hand in one graceful movement. The bag had been weighing her down, yet Nico tossed it around effortlessly. Allison bit back a smile.

Welcome Carina Press author, Lynda Aicher...

Welcome to my site, Lynda! It's so fantastic to host a Carina Press author - I have heard endless good things about them and hope to submit something myself in the not too distant future. Okay, let's get started with those questions!

1)   Did you set any goals for 2012?
In general, I’m not a big goal setting person because I find it only leads to disappointment when you miss them. But I am a deadline driven person, so I tend to impose personal deadlines on completing things and then work to meet them. I guess, it kind of like goals, but it’s different in my crazy head.

2)   What is the best part of the writing process for you?
When I write The End. *grin* Seriously, it’s watching the characters unfold and when they do the unexpected that takes the story in a different direction. It’s wild, frustrating and fun.

3)   The worst part?
Would be when the story stalls. It usually means that I’m going in the wrong direction, but it’s painful while I’m struggling to figure out where it should go to get the book back on track.

4)   What is the book you wish you’d written?
I don’t know if there is one, really. I think every book has merit and some become wildly successful, but there isn’t one I can pinpoint that I wished I had written instead of the author.

5)   Favourite author/s & book/s?
I read too much to define a favorite book. I usually think in lines of authors I like. Some of them are:  L.A. Witt, Amy Lane, J.R. Ward, Kresley Cole, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Lacey Alexander, Anne Tenino

6)   Tell us about your latest release?
Bonds of Need is the second book in the Wicked Play series from Carina Press. It’s Deklan and Kendra’s story and really about learning to accept ones needs as being okay even if they are different and not understood by most of society.

7)   What is your favorite attribute of the hero and heroine?

It would be Kendra’s desire and drive to finally heal. I admire the courage it would take to not only accept her mistakes, but to admit that the very thing that hurt her in the past is what she still needs, only in a different way.

8)   What’s next?
Bonds of Desire comes out in July and Bonds of Hope will be out in September. There at least two more scheduled in the series that will be out in 2014. That’s what I know of so far. Things can change though.
J

9)                  Tell me where you write?
Most of the time it’s in my office. We redid it last year to make it exactly what I wanted so I can leave my notes and papers everywhere in my organized, unorganized fashion. I used to write at the kitchen table and it was a real pain to “move my office” every time we wanted to eat.

10)                  Where would you like your career to be in 5 years?
Ohh, that’s a tricky question. Ideally, I would love to have a steady following of readers, some books in print, see my name on the NY Times Bestsellers list (dream big, right?) and make a steady income from my writing. But the market, industry and life is fickle, so who knows. I mostly do the best I can with each book and the rest will fall out where it will.

Bonds of Need
 Book 2 in the Wicked Play Series
by Lynda Aicher

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
When Kendra Morgan attends a party at an exclusive sex club, she's not driven by mere curiosity. Hoping to prove she's put the past behind her, Kendra must instead face up to needs she's denied for too long. Despite her lingering fears, she can't resist the temptation to play…
Deklan Winters has had his eye on his attractive neighbor for months, but only senses Kendra is no stranger to the BDSM scene when she walks into his club. And he can tell that's not her only secret. What surprises him is his own overwhelming desire to give her what she craves—and to show her a side to the Dom/sub relationship she's never known.
With Deklan's guidance, Kendra begins to accept her forbidden needs and to recognize the fine line between pleasure and pain. But when her former Master returns to reclaim her, it will take all her courage—and all of Deklan's love—to defy her past.
EXCERPT:
A gulp of fresh air filled her lungs the second she entered the hallway. She stalled there, shaking as she slumped against the wall. She locked her knees to keep herself upright, an act that brought a smirk to her lips. Eric always punished her for locking her knees. One of the first lessons she was taught as a sub was to keep her knees loose to limit the chance of fainting.
She turned her head and stared down the long hallway to the stairway at the end. The faint sounds of the Dungeon drifted down to her like a lure, pulling her in, closer to temptation, to the forbidden acts taking place just beyond her reach.
Closing her eyes, she centered in on the distant crack of a whip, the smack of a paddle against flesh, the wail of a sub timed with the clinking of chains. Her lips compressed as she struggled against the desire to join. The need that tugged at her to walk up the stairs and take what her body so desperately wanted.
She twisted the black band on her wrist, her mark as a visitor to The Den. But her status had been elevated, the red light having changed to green. She could play if she wanted. Her safety catch had been released, and now there was nothing stopping her but free will.
Her decision to make.
